Austrian Theater Festspiele Erl
A Digital Debut at Festspiele Erl
The Theater in Erl is one of Austria’s cultural highlights. When it comes to visitor information, the theater is committed to delivering an aesthetic that is both striking and contemporary. Since 2019, Peakmedia (ZetaDisplay Austria) has supported the theater with bespoke digital signage solutions that impress both visually and technically.
In the past, static display cases with vinyl posters were installed in front of the building, illuminated with lights to suit the weather conditions, yet often not up to date in terms of content. Theatre cast changes frequently led to discrepancies between the posters and reality. At the same time, numerous roll-ups stood in the foyer. These were neither visually appealing nor simple to update. The brief was clear: a digital transformation was needed.
Implementation
Indoor Totems
The plan took shape in 2024, with the installation of the first two 65″ indoor digital signage totems in the foyer of the building. The modern design and positive impact quickly generated interest in further developments.

Outdoor Totems
Significant expansion had followed by July 2025 in the outdoor area: four 75″ digital outdoor totems replaced the previous analogue displays next to the main staircase leading to the entrance. With automatic brightness adjustment, the daylight-compatible displays ensure perfect readability whether in bright sunlight or at night, while consistently delivering up-to-date, visually compelling content.
In May 2025, another highlight was added: two 75″ outdoor cases were installed as a wall-mounted solution at the nearby train station. They greet arriving guests with the latest information, and generate a buzz around the theater, right from the first touchpoint.

The professional, personal and straightforward realisation of our ideas has made Peakmedia [ZetaDisplay Austria] our reliable partner on equal terms for many years.
Alexander Rafanowitsch, Head of Public Relations at Festspiele Erl

Conclusion
A project with cultural significance, this deployment is both technically sophisticated and elegantly executed. The Festspiele Theater in Erl is setting new standards in visitor communication with digital signage, with messaging that is responsive, innovative, and up-to-date.
