ZetaDisplay has been named as a finalist in the 2021 Global Digital Signage Awards in the Sports and Entertainment Venues category. The company is recognised for its work at SNØ, the world’s largest indoor ski hall near Oslo, Norway.
The awards have been running for over 10 years and recognise outstanding campaigns, creative executions and technical innovations in the fields of digital signage, DOOH advertising and digital visual experiences.
The project was carried out by the ZetaDisplay Norway team, represented through Pronto TV, who battled sub-zero temperatures, death-defying heights and strict deadlines to deliver a transformative digital signage solution.
The visual display solution consisted of three large P 3,9 Expromo LED screens, with a 40msq display at the top of the big-jump area and 35msq displays in the middle and the at bottom of the main slope.
In addition to the physical displays, the futured proofed content strategy is as engaging as the incredible new slopes, incorporating live camera streams from within the arena, live TV and real-time social media and imagery integration.
Jørn Olsen, head of marketing and analytics at ZetaDisplay Norway explains:
“We are very proud to be recognised for this incredible project, which started in June 2018 when we had to specify all the fibre and cabling that would be needed, as once the tonnes of solid ice were in place there would be no chance to change anything!
“The team worked in temperatures of -16 degrees and had to overcome challenges including transporting kit up steep slippery slopes with freezing snow firing from overhead canons. Everything was completed in time for the launch and the solution still has room to grow with the client, with elements that they are not using yet but know they can evolve into.”
The winners of the 2021 Global Digital Signage Awards will be revealed at the online ceremony, taking place on Wednesday 3rd February 2021.
